The Art of Doors

There is a kind of magic to doors. That’s probably why they’re used in so many analogies, quotes, songs, and the like.

It makes sense that the human eye is naturally drawn to the front door of a home. It’s where we enter our abode, where we are welcomed in, where we go to “hide” when we need to reset and recharge, where we step through to gather with family and loved ones.

Because of that, it matters what it looks like. (And we’re not just saying that for the homeowners who are contemplating selling their home in the near future…though, honestly, it’s just as important of a claim in that circumstance!) It makes sense that you would want the first focal point of your home to stand out.

When you get home, your front door is your first “welcome home”. Does it currently feel like a warm hug? Or a cold greeting? How about when you are the host or hostess doing the welcoming? Will your guests be greeted by an entrance that greets them with “come on in and make yourself at home”?
