What spring means for you…and your local contractors

Spring is in the air!

Metaphorically speaking, of course. Mid-February + freezing temperatures is probably not the setting in which you’re turning off your heater and running errands in shorts and a tee.

But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t start making some plans for Spring, Summer, Fall! Specifically, as regards any and all exterior to-do’s around your home. We know you may be thinking, “No way…it’s February. I got time.” BUT (bubble-burst incoming) …you really don’t. Here’s why.

  1. In our lovely nor’eastearn area the agreeable weather timeframe is limited. And even when the temperatures cooperate, the precipitation may not. The moving parts of scheduling exterior projects is a constant juggling act. Your best bet is to get ahead of it as much as humanly possible and call/schedule the necessary professionals.

  2. The Spring is notoriously the most popular time for people buying and selling a home. It reasonably follows that it’s also when those sellers look around their home and find what needs to be repaired, replaced, painted, updated, etc. Those homeowners usually have this in mind long before Spring arrives and have most likely already reached out to contractors like us at the behest of their realtor to get those projects checked off as soon as the weather allows. You may not be selling your home and therefore not in any rush, but that doesn’t mean the contractor you were hoping to hire hasn’t heard from (and booked) Cindy from two houses down. And once the exterior schedule fills up, that’s it. And suddenly you’re talking 2027.

  3. This one is specific to those of you who want to get something done, but you just don’t know yet the full scope of what you want to get done. That’s okay. It’s still better to get something on the books now than nothing at all and then call in mid April looking to have it completed by the end of April (heads up: if you do this, it will not get completed by the end of April.)

The takeaway: If you have even an inkling of an idea of a plan for one or many projects for the exterior of your home, the smartest thing to do next? Give us a call!
